Rainy Anzac day, Easter Monday

Monday 25 April
Today is Easter Monday
and
Anzac Day

It has been raining all night.
This morning we put on our raincoats
and went for a walk in Fairlight.

Just some notes for my diary

This is the third try, I am using Claude PC, Icould not publish my blog with mine. Something has gone wrong, Claude is trying to fix it.

Diary:

Friday 8 April

Tonight we went to the Sydney Opera House for a concert: The last Romantic, Rachmaninoff's third piano concerto.
We went 30 minutes before to attend the lecture.

Friday 15 April

I was not in the mood to take photos and I regretted it in the evening.

We parked the car at the old gas work in Manly and walk across the little beach to the North Head National park.
We walk all over/across the National Park and the Harbour trust park, we don't know were one stop and the other start.
We walk to the little restaurant for a coffee. It was closed. It had just been refurbished. There was a "for lease" sign. We thought of Shane. He used to dream about opening his own little cafe.

By chance, we stambbled across the first day for the general public to visit an old cemetery, 242 graves.
Some graves are from 1881 (small pox) and a lot of them are from May 1900 (bubonic plague).
Some personnel from the Harbour Federation Trust were cleaning some graves and some stonemasons were restoring others.
The cemetery is in the ground of the former school of artillery which is now called the North Head Sanctuary.

Saturday 16 April

Another musical evening.

My friend Rhian is in the choir. We go to her concert when they are at the Cardinal Cerretti Chapel in Manly.
Tonight was Mozart requiem and the first part of the evening was a solo by the concert master, she is Russian. She played Prokofiev violin concerto no.1 in D.
It was enchanting, the accoustics are very good.
We were almost late. The concert was starting at 7.30pm, it usually is at 8pm.
We went for dinner in Manly and were strolling back up the hill. We saw a lot of cars parked everywhere and thought there was a wedding reception were Nicole Kidman had hers, but it was people for the concert. We did not get our favorite good seats.

Afternoon tea

Thursday 14 April

With 5 other aqua friends, we met for

afternoon tea.

Rosina had her grand daughter.

Mia's mother is due any day now to have

a baby.

Rosina, Camille and Jenny Pam and Tricia. Claude loves Tricia...She brought him a container with some extra pieces of her slice as she know he has a sweet tooth. And seeing this Camille told me to put some of her slices in the container too. Claude has been spoiled.

Amelia at Clifton garden

Wednesday 13 April

Claude has taken the day off to spend

with Amelia.

Usually on his day off we take the morning

easy with a sleep in.....

Not today. we were woken up by Amelia.

Busy writing while we got the breakfast going. Back in bed for a rest... not really she had ants in her pants.
Arriving at Clifton garden and she is fast

asleep.
She wanted to carry the picnic blanket.

Roof problem

Friday the 8 April

We had a guy putting new facias on our roof.

He did such a bad job that the people who

came to install our new pergola refused to do

it until we had it fix.

So after few weeks we found someone.

And what he found was rotten wood.

So we had to have it fix.

It is still going on and is costing us a fortune.

Saturday 9 April

Claude is painting the post ready

for the pergola when it comes.!!!!

Sunday 10 April

We went for a bike ride around the lake

and then to the beach.

We had to cross a park near the caravans

park, the council had erected some

sporting equipments.

I had a go at few of them.

We had a busy few days.....

Shalhaven beach

Sunday 3 April

End of day light saving.

we were up very early so we decided to

go to Kangaroo Valley or Jarvis Bay,

with a stop for coffee at Berry.

When we arrived at Berry we founded out

it was market/fair day.

We stayed the whole morning walking

around the market. We bought a few things.

honey in a comb. (Claude loves this, yuck)

fig jam from the region.

And an alphabet book for Amelia.

It was then too late to go where we had planned.

We ended up at Shalhaven beach. The kites flying club were meeting. Most of the members were in France in Dieppe for a competition.

I had on a nice hat with a sunflower!!!!!!
On our way back we went exploring.

Most of the roads were dead ends.

to clean up their catch
