We were in the airport with plenty of time to board our plane at 8.25pm
We kept on seeing Emirates people coming and going.
But nobody was saying anything and the time was passing
Around 10pm we were told that our flight was cancelled,
but they were still in discussion, so to stay put, not to leave.
People from interstate will be lodged but Sydney people
will have to make their way home. (that us).
So we waited and so much was going on in our brain.
Our plans were to spend one night in Dubai and
take the next flight to Copenhagen where
we were to spend one night and take a Baltic cruise
the next day.
Suddenly at 11pm we were told:
They have reopened one runway in Dubai.
Apparently a plane landing gear did not
come down and it crashed.
And we were told:
We have good news and bad news.
We are going if we could board the plan quickly
that we had permission to leave after the 11pm curfew
but that we had to be in the air by 11.30pm.
And the bad news... Nobody will have luggage.
When they thought that the flight was cancelled they
emptied the plane and it will take too long to put the
luggage back.
Claude and I NEVER travel with cabin luggage,
so we had NOTHING.
We left at 11.18pm
Dubai airport
the crashed plane.
Nobody was killed, everybody had the time to
evacuate before it burst in flames.
But a fireman lost his life.
Tired as we were we had to filled the lost luggage forms
