Lego and Amelia ballet

Sunday 9 February

Shane and family are coming
for a BBQ and to get the
Lego stored under the house.

2 minutes and the house was a disaster area.
The children had a good time playing while
we were having a drink outside and Claude and Shane
got the wood BBQ starting.

After lunch Amelia was BURSTING
to show us all the ballet steps
she learnt this week at her first
ballet lesson

she is teaching me

What a clever girl

Then it was time to get to the Lego
Shane and Jo had a good time looking through
all of the stuff, even opening Christopher bins
and stealing his fireworks and playboys magazines.
I don't think Christopher is going to be happy with that.

Meanwhile Joshua is being potty train, cold turkey.
We had a wet pans so I changed him into some
old clothes that I have been sorting out.

eating a lollipop

trousers a bit short but I love the shirt

a visitor

for a couple of week we had this bird coming
to be fed bananas.
And then he disappear.

Art Gallery concert

Sunday 2 February

It is a very beautiful day, hot.

This morning I pack up a picnic and we drove
to Fairlight where we parked the car.
We walk to the ferry. While waiting in the shade
I took off my hat and put it on the bench.
When the ferry arrived I took my bag but
forgot the hat. It was a very hot day.
So I was not very happy as it was silly to buy
a new hat when I have soooooo many at home.

Arriving in Sydney after our cruise on the ferry
we walk to Government house and had our
picnic in the garden overlooking the harbour.

Concert in the art gallery

Sally Whitwell
She played the piano beautifully and was
very witty.

Sally is a conductor, composer, and educator

with presenter Julian Day

Simon Tedeschi played Gershwin

Julian Day and Simon wrapping it up

We were very late coming home.
Manly was still full of tourists.
Lots of people on the beaches
and some having BBQ and picnic.
I did not feel like going home
and having the day stopping.

Trips to the beaches

Tuesday 28 January

After my morning walk I came home
and Claude was rearing to go...
I made sandwiches and we drove to
Balgowlah and walk to Reef Beach.
It used to be a nudist beach but the
local complain that it should be a family beach

I started taking photos between
my feet for Christopher as he
always send me some.

Thursday 30 January
Amelia first day of school.
I kept on thinking of her.
It is driving me crazy not knowing how she is.
So we decided to drive to Harbord and do
the coastal walk to Curl Curl beach

Amelia was fine.
She even took the bus with Michaela
poor Jo had to travel by car with
only Joshua to meet her at the school.

On course tour day seven

Friday 24 January

Day seven

last day
free day until we all meet at a pick up point
to make our journey back to the airport.

And it is raining

John dropped us near South Banks.
We wanted to go on a river cruise to
Williams town but it started raining more
heavily. We would have see nothing
through the plastic cover of the boat.
So we explore

a seat

Year of the horse

We were so wet we went to dry in the Casino and a
very nice hotel, the Rosita

some tram
It stop raining so we went to the Eureka building.
It has a nice viewing deck. But where we went to
buy the tickets a panel was saying
"Intermittent viewing"
so we did not go.
We went to visit the art gallery

Good bye Melbourne
We had a really nice time
on our first organised tour

I was afraid Claude would not like it but he
thought it was Ok. On some of the excursions
he would have preferred going to explore more
and not do all the viewing from the coach.
