Queensland holidays 2011. Day three

Saturday 18 June

Day three
Injune to Clermont

Left Injune at 10 past 8 am, only 7 degres.

We drove to Carnarvon gorges

The remains of a C 47 B Dakota aircraft who
crashed there on the 6 November 1943 during
a violent electrical storm.

Claude made us a coffee before going for
a walk.

Claude did not fall in the river this time.
Claude talk wit an Elder Fred Conway to ask
him where was the dirt track to Rollston.
We took it years and years ago but this time
we could not see any indications.
In Rollston we stopped at a very nice park for our
picnic lunch and them look for a rainforest fort
in Springsure but could not find it.
We think we gave up too soon, but we are
on a tight schedule. And we could not find a coffee
shop with real coffee either.
 We stopped in Emerald.
Train station
a big easel in a park.
That was all to see in town.

We arrived at Clermont at 4.47pm
We checked in and went for a walk around town.
Everything was shut.
the carriages of an old train were painted
like murals.

our motel.
