Friday 1St July
Day sixteen
Palm Cove - Townsville
After breakfast, we went for our last walk along
the beach.
we walk right to the lagoon
After we loaded the car we went to the new estate.
They are selling land and if you want they have few
house designs and also they can furnished them.
We visited one just so. We could have just put
our suitcases of clothes and be in.
It was very tempting.
We stopped in Tully. The golden gumboot.
There is a staircase inside and I climbed
right to the top.
Tully: "a pretty wet place"
The height of the gumboot represents the
amount of rainfall in Tully in the year 1950.
79 metres, the Australian record.
(But I bet the North shore is beating it
at the present)
Our last chance to visit a sugar mill.
But because of the rain they have not started
cutting the sugar cane.
We arrived in Townsville and went to look
for the night market.: Not our lucky day.
They have cancelled it as tomorrow it's the
V8 race and the town is getting ready.
