Almost finished- the saga continue

Friday 29 July
Fascias the saga continue

All week
I forgot to take photos .

We are having the rest of the house fascias done....

On Monday 25 July,
they measured, and started on Tuesday.

The builders have been here all this week.
and I was stuck here too without a car.

They discovered rusted and blocked drainpipes

We had to have new ones put in. they have to cut
the concrete to access the rusted part.
Just wait for the bill...

They also find the carport beam is all rotten
so they will have to come back to do that.
Boy oh boy it does not get better.

This is the last stage as I only remember to take photos this afternoon
Matt was cutting the concrete to
install the drain pipe

Oh I think we should have sold and let someone
else sort out all that mess and expense.
And it is not finished.

Picking flowers

Monday 25 July

Amelia was up early again but as
Claude as to work we all got up.

 busy writting
I went to put a load of washing to
dry and Amelia wanted to pick the flowers.
So we went walking around the
neighbourhood and pick some.
 her basket is full
Now she is doing flower arrangement.
 coloring
Jo came to pick her up after her afternoon nap.
Jo went to Joshua clinic this morning which was
good without having a 2y1/2 runing around.
Everything is OK with Joshua.
 beautiful Joshua
smilling

The builders came to mesure for the facias.
They are starting tomorow.

No sleeping in

Sunday 24 July

Amelia was up before us.
"It's not dark, I saw a bird, I am hungry"

So we got up and I made her 2 weet bix
while Claude was doing our breakfast.
She ate it all and now she is eating
a bowl of Milo cereal.
We all went back to bed.
But not to rest, Amelia is like a squiggly worm.
She is playing under the doona with a torch.
grand dad is having fun too

Now they are watching "Bob the builder"
while I tidy up the place and wash Amelia clothes.
No car, no worry we all went for a walk,
meeting few neighbours on the way who all stopped
to see "the baby"
We went to Beacon hill park.

We stopped at her dad old school
 funny grand dad
she did not want to wash her hair.
Oh well her parents can deal with that tomorrow.
After when I put her diner in front of her she said
"I don't like it" but she ate it all.

Shane birthday- one day over due

Saturday 23 July

Yesterday was Shane birthday.
They went to celebrate at a restaurant
( who serve spare ribs)
not far from their place.
But unfortunately, Claude and I could not
go as we are car less. It is in the work shop.

We had a cheese fondue, sitting in front of the fire.
forgot to take photos
 the birthday boy
 Amelia sited on her "pill"

Shane put Amelia in her PJ before leaving just
in case she fall asleep in the car, he will have
just to carry her to bed.
BUT, Amelia thought she was staying.
Bye mum, bye dad, bye Joshy.
So we kept her.

Mykaela 9th birthday celebrations

Sunday 17 July

Mykaela is nine years old today

Last night she had a slumber party with her friends.
Today we are celebrating with Yam Cha.
I have never had Yam Cha before.

 new dishes kept on coming
I had no idea what I ate and how much.
They kept on taking away the empty dishes

Jo Grand ma made the cake

 The cutting of the cake
Mykaela had to kiss the next boy (Claude)
after cutting the cake.
Amelia had a book from Aunty Tina
and uncle Christopher. And in it
was some stickers too. She played
with the stickers. By the end of lunch
they were not sticking any more.
 Joshua was a good baby.
After Jo fed him he was pass on around
the table for cuddles from every one.
We finished too early for us to go home, so we
drove to Fairlight and had a walk on the sea shore
and we saw a pod of about a dozen dolphins.
It was hard to point the camera at the right place.
but if you click on the photo you can see them.

Rock wall

Saturday 16 July

This morning we were having a lie in bed.
We had gone late to bed last night.
We went to the opera house for a concert:
Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet.
We had parked at level one in the opera car park,
We thought we were lucky to find a place so quickly.
Bad move, we were last to go out so we were
very late coming home and I had to read to
wind down before I could sleep.

So this morning We were summon by the delivery
man asking us to move the car for him to dump
the fire wood.
Claude move all that wood from the drive way
while I was gone to aqua.

 lots of nice cosy fires
this afternoon I helped Claude build the rock wall.
We got the rock from the bush behind our place.
Now we have to put some plants and then decide
what to do with the ugly man hole
We thought maybe to put a big pot plant and some
large river stone around it. don't know yet.

Bastille day

Thursday 14 July

Bastille Day

We thought we had a bottle of champagne but it
was a bottle of sparkling Shiraz.
We had a glass by the fire to celebrate the day.
And drank the rest with our steak dinner.

Very nice, we don't often celebrate, we just forget
but this morning when I went for the mall walk
a lot of people call out "happy Bastille day"
So it was on my mind and with Claude still
on holiday it was lovely  to do it too.

Picnic at Long Reef

Tuesday 12 July

Claude is still on holidays.

We cleaned the laundry this morning.
We are trying to minimise, declutter, get rid of all
the stuff I keep, just in case I need it!

The repairman came to look at the air conditioner.
Nothing wrong with it, just old.

I made us some lunch and we went to eat it
at Long Reef. There has been a lot of whales sighting
but nothing today.

The wind was not going the right way.
This man had a lot of trouble staying up.

After a walk around the golf course we went
and did some shopping.

A day of reckoning

Monday 11 July

Day of reckoning

I am meeting friends from my last job for
lunch in Chastwood.

Kerry, Dianne, Vicky and Xiaoyan came.
Isabelle had family from oversea and
nobody heard from Alisa, she must be away
for the school holidays.

We went to the New Shanghai.
Xiaoyan did the ordering, I ate.
We had a very good time talking, eating, talking eating.......
But we had not finished.
We then went to a chocolatier for coffee
and dessert. Oh what a place, all that
chocolate. I was very good, I let them
stuffed themselves (all skinny) and
I only had a skim milk cappuccino (Diane too)

Day of reckoning
Tonight I have to go to weight watchers first time
since I went on holidays and I had such a big lunch too..

I have lost 900g since my last visit, ye epee!

45 years in Australia

Sunday 10 July

Today mark the day we arrived in Australia
45 years ago

We had a celebration lunch (Caesar salad)
at the Terry Hill tavern
Then went to walk it off at Long Reef.
It was very windy

The wind was blowing the top of the waves.

At a nursery we bought 5 pots of
bloomers and planted them near
my cloth line.

Queensland Holiday 2011: Day twenty one

Wednesday 6 July

Day twenty one:
Coffs Harbour - Home

Last day of our holidays.
The last few days passed very fast.
Formule 1 had a nice continental breakfast.
And then we were ready for the last leg.
We stopped in Port Macquarie 15 degrees
We had a coffee at Zebu and went for a walk
along the jetty. The painted rocks look a bit
like tomb stones.

The new road bi passed Tarree.
We had lunch at Forster. It was cold and windy 18 degrees.

Again lot of road works on the way.
We saw 2 interesting places:
North Heaven, we will have to come again for a long week end,
and Seal Rocks near Myall lake.

End of the holidays.
21 days
6250 km

The first time in our lives that we had such bad weather
during our holidays
(not bad considering our ages, eh eheheheh)
