Barrenjoe lighthouse

Friday 13 January

We decided to climb to the lighthouse.
I packed up a picnic and off we went.

We have to walk on the sea shore to
go to the lighthouse path. We never
saw the tide so high, I took my shoes of.
I took 2 photos of the disappearing beach
and when I tried to take the third one it
said:"memory full" I could not believe it
I knew that I had less than 10 photos on
the card. Claude thought that maybe it was
because the battery was low. So I took
the battery of and proceed to put the new
one in. Something was not as it should...
and then I realised that there was no card
in the camera. And that my friends is what
is called "A SENIOR MOMENT".

Almost at the top I remembered my phone.
ouf! I can take photos.
This is Palm beach

While we were having lunch 3 of those lizards came
They are scavengers, they ate bread, cheese and pear.

We had a lovely day but have to come
home to do a bit of housework.

Walking on the beach

Wednesday 11 January

Claude went to work at the office today
so I did not have the car and could not go
to my aqua class. Wednesday is a good
class. The instructor is Brazilian. His
classes are always full on, no rest. (and
he is not bad on the eyes too)

Curl Curl beach.
It is a long beach, my children went to nippers there.
After 4pm I went walking there when Claude was home.
I walk the whole length and back. It was great I enjoyed it.

This is from the other end.

a self taken photo (yuck)

The new beach flags, to be better seen they have put
a banner along the pole.

We are having very bad weather at the moment
and last night sea was very rough and it open up
the lagoon. This morning this should have been
uncrossable but now at 5pm I just walk across it.

Well Tharyn I thought of you losing all that weight
and me missing my aqua this morning and that
gave me the initiative to go for a walk on my own.

First bike ride of the year

Sunday 8 January

Yesterday afternoon we went for a walk
along the foreshore at Fairlight. The
weather was very nice.
Not so today, grey sky, but warm.
We  decided not to go ride too far in case
it starts to rain. We went to Narrabeen lake
and rode the other way around. We parked
at the Deep creek park and rode to the
sailing club and on a bit further to find
a nice spot to picnic.

Claude getting the bike
the little beach where we had lunch

I zoomed for this photo, it is across the lake
where we parked our car.

On our way back I ask Claude to stop
and I picked up those nice flowers
by the road side

Uncluttering the kitchen

Wednesday 4 January

What a beautiful day after all that rain.

First I did the last load of washing.
Then hand wash 2 jumpers, I still
have 7 to hand wash, and I already
hand wash 3 yesterday

It all started with me climbing on the
bench top to hook up some of the
strands of my plant (weeping hearts)
When on top I noticed dust on the
cupboard tops, I dusted then washed
the top of the cupboards, then the
shelves around the plant
(yes I removed the plant first.)

Then I removed all the jars (flour, sugar etc)
and put them in a cupboard.
This way I was able to push back the
toaster and the sandwich maker.
It gives me an area to put the plates.

It was then time for me to go to
my aqua class.
After lunch I resumed the assault
on the clutter.....

I then went to the other side of the
kitchen and did the same.
Only the coffee maker and coffee
electric jug and the spice rack.
Oh yes the soap (will have to do
something about it, but I need it)

Oh it does look nice!

Maybe now I should not cook anymore
to keep it clean!!!!

Where are the take away menus??????

Kamay Botany Bay National Park

Monday 2 January

Beautiful, sunny day.
packed a picnic and went to Botany Bay
Captain Cook landing place.

We wanted a coffee, so we made a detour to Cronulla Beaches.
What a beautiful area, big modern houses, lovely beaches.
We parked at Elouera beach (both photos)

Then we walk to Wanda Beach where we saw a cafe on the beach
The cafe at Wanda beach was called "The Wanderer"
They made a very nice coffee but their sourdough
bread was more like white toast!!!!

And on we went to the National park

It is a lovely place but was a bit windy where
we decided to have our picnic.

After lunch we went for a walk.
We even walk outside the park and had a look
at the nice houses and the beautiful beaches.
It was a shame (in a way) that you could see
the big tankers and the oil refineries.

Then we took a drive to Cape Solander

Very wild and rugged

Not a place for children

Kamay Botany Bay National Park has a lot
of walking tracks. Some inland and some on
the cliff top. We will have to investigate.

Coastal walk: Narrabeen to Warriewood beach

Sunday 1 January 2012

Our first bushwalk of the year.

Narrabeen to Warriewood Beach

Beautiful views all the way

Claude choose a spot for our picnic on the cliff.
The sign said "Danger"

Warriewood beach
We had a lovely day
When we got home we relax on the deck and

New year Eve at Dee Why Beach

Saturday 31 December

I packed a nice picnic and a bottle of wine
and we headed on to Long Reef Beach.
There we could not see the pontoon, so
we drove back to Dee Why.
Boy oh boy the crowd.
Impossible to find any parking space and it was
only 6pm for the 9pm fireworks
We were lucky that I spotted a life saver
going to the gate of the park next to the parking lot
It is a kind of overflow at big event.
So we were first in.

We could have stayed at Long Reef as the
Barge had nor arrived yet.
We could see a lot of people over there
and I am sure they had as good of view
as we had.

The barge was just in front of us

Back home to watch the
midnight fireworks on TV.
