Cockatoo Island

Sunday 11 December

Visit to Cockatoo Island

It started on a sunny morning
but rain was predicted.
We parked the car in Milson point
and walk across the harbour bridge to
Circular quay.
Claude had to pay $10.60 for the ferry
me...I only pay $2.50
the advantage of being a senior citizen.

inside the tunnel.
graffiti art on one side

some old building but every where was that
graffiti art.

where we had our picnic lunch
(noticed my new hair cut?)
an old church
 the camping ground

just walking, 2pm the sky was all black

and the rain came down
we did not have the first ferry back but we were
on this one and those poor people had to wait
for the next one.

we had a lovely day a shame it had to stop so early.
we could not walk back across the harbour bridge
we had to take the train.
I used my same ticket and Claude had to pay
 an extra $3.20

Street party

Saturday 10 December

We are having a street party.
They closed down the bottom of the Avenue
for the children to play.
It is amazing how many small children
there is. Living in a dead end I only go
up the street and in the car so I do
not know most of those people.
Claude love "white Christmas"
but I don't make it anymore as it
is too much for one person.
But this morning I did a batch to
take to the party so Claude was able to have some.

Lunch at St Patrick

Thursday 8 December

St Patrick used to be a monastery
 The catholic church sold it

A visit

Tuesday 6 December

We had the visit of Jo with Amelia and Joshua

A big surprise...Joshua is sitting up
 Amelia chatting on the phone.
( I wonder where she is copying this :o)
I bought this toy at AKEA for Amelia
and we put it together. she got very
cranky when I put the Allen key away,
she was not interested in the toy, she
only wanted to screw it together.

Joshua has now 2 teeth and he is such a good baby, no crying

School for Senior Christmas lunch

Tuesday 6 December

Today is the "school for senior Christmas lunch"

I go every Tuesday morning to the school
to learn quilling.
We make beautiful cards.
Well mine are not so good most of the time
but I enjoy making them.
I am the youngest in the group
and I have a lot of fun.
Every week I am looking forward to going there.

singing Christmas carols
L-R: Lucette (french) Beth and her husband (he
plays scrabble and indoor bowling at the school)
forgot her name and Marie
Coral, Anne and Jessica

oh, this is me standing taking photos
Not all our group came to the lunch.
we are the biggest group at he school.
Very often I don't even talk to the people
at the other tables so I don't know them
that well
The school is in the church hall.
This young man, just 2 months ago became
a new minister. He read us a Christmas story
The major gave a speech
and then it was food:
vegetarian quiche or chicken
potato salad, garden salad and bread
Christmas pudding with custard.
All very yummy.
I went for second....
the old people don't eat much
After lunch 2 school choirs came to sing for us
They sang beautifully
they have sang at the opera
And we finish off with the door price.
And Ann won $40, she was very happy.
Her daughter is on TV on SBS 2 she is a chef

Christmasy Manly

Sunday 4 December

A very grey day.
Claude has been working all week end.
And we are climbing the walls.
So we went for a walk to Manly.

The pub had nice silver decorations

Also it was "Ocean Care Day"
the guy was covered with plastic bags.
But they kept on flying off so he had to
run after them. It was fun to watch.....

And suddenly the rain came. We were lucky
we had a large umbrella.
