Making the most of a wet week end: Sunday

Sunday 4 March

Don't listen to the weather, they
are mostly wrong.
We woke up wit a grey sky and
decided it was a good day to go
and visit the new huge IKEA store.
We don't have anything to buy!!!

Just before we left, Claude suggested
that I pack up a picnic as the sky
was clearing and he thought that
we might find a nice spot to picnic.

We arrived at IKEA just in time
for morning tea. We shared a big
Danish pastry and had a coffee.
The coffee was very good which
was a nice surprise.
They have disposable bib for
the baby...(I took some for Joshua...)

We spent 2 and a half hours walking
around. We saw a lot of new ideas
to re do the dressing room/ my study
and also a nice desk for my studio.
I will have to clear both room first!!!!

When we came out the sun was blazing,
lot of clouds but warm 28 degrees.
We went to explore Sydney Park. We
never been to that park. We think it
must be pretty new as the trees were
still small. It use to be factories and
a trains depot.

Sydney park is at the back of the
big chimney. It is big. Lot of people
running, picnicking and bicycling.

view of the City
After lunch we went to explore
Boy it was hot. We are wearing
the wrong cloth. I am in Jean and
a long sleeve T shirt and Claude
has trousers, long sleeve top and
his dress shoes.
We discovered a row of old posts.
It look like a wharf...???? It is
a bit far from the river.

we continued with the exploring and
came upon a big children playground.
I did not take any photos as it was full
of children. They must come from all
the flats around and are out in the sun
after such an awful week.
From what we saw the playground
cater for different age group. It look
like fun too.
A bit further on, not far from where we
parked our car (we missed the first turn)
we came upon that bike playground.
It is set like roads with pedestrians
crossing, stop signs and traffic lights.
The children were whizzing around.
the little one not respecting the signs
and some parents trying to teach them.
