Making the most of a wet week end.
Friday 2 March
Wet yes it is I don't feel like going out
but Claude suggest a short walk and
lunch somewhere. If I don't have to
cook I will go anywhere.
During the week I cut out of the newspaper
some coupons from a nice restaurant on
The Strand at DW.
The rain was too heavy so we gave up
on the walk and stayed home until
lunch time and made our way to the
Aubergine restaurant.
When we arrived they gave us a nice
big menu, but the coupons said to give
the coupon before ordering. I did.
They took away our menu and gave us
another smaller one.
The coupon said "2 courses + a glass of wine"
so we were expecting the switch.
For $20 what can you have?
The entree was a choice of soup or garlic bread,
we had the garlic bread. For the main the choice
was ample, burgher, salad etc. We both chose
the flat pasta with chicken, bacon and mushrooms
in a creamy tomato sauce. The portion were
modest but it was delicious, and we had a glass
of Chardonnay too.
By the time we ate the weather had improve
slightly. It was not raining too heavily so
we went for our walk. We noticed a lot of people
walking for a charity (I think) the poor people
were soaked.
Tonight Mykaela is starting scouting and Shane as
a leader. good luck to them both I hope they
enjoy themselves.
She looks very happy.
