Sunday 29 January
Need some exercises.
We are going for a bike ride.
Rain is only predicted tonight.
We have never seen so many people
in the park. Sydney is becoming very
populated.
The park is a gorgeous venue for
all kind of activities:
Horse riding, bicycling, skating, walking
running or just picnicking.
We choose this spot for our picnic.
On our right, a personal trainer was
making an old couple do some
exercises. I don't think she was doing
a good job, she did not correct their
posture or their position. I felt like
going over and saying something....

Au revoir Jill
Tuesday 24 January
My friend Jill travelled to and from
England few time a year.So each time
we have a lunch or diner for "hello" and
one for "au revoir"
Today we are having diner at the
Harbord Hilton.
We had reserve a table outside but
it was raining so much that they put
us inside. being a Tuesday it was not noisy
Martha had chosen a nice vegetarian meal
Marie is saying: oh my god I can't eat all that
Camille is saying that she could share with 3 to 4 people
Marge too is having the nacho. she usually ordered
wedges to have before or meal but last time I
told her that it was all her fault that I put on weight
so this time no wedges and I don't have an excuse
for my weight gain on Monday.
All 3 of them did not finished their nacho.
Tricia has some cutlet topped with scallops
a baked potato and a salad. she ate only
half of the meat. she enjoyed the baked potato.
Jill had a steak ( boy it was expensive)
Rhian had the same as Tricia and she
too did not finished her meal ( I had
one of her scallop)
And yes this is mine: chicken Caesar salad.
My friends think that I should branch out
and try something else.....
But all week I have bee thinking of my last
dinner here, I had mussels with a big bowl
of chips and a damper. oh it was yummy.
I had planed to have it tonight but it was
not on the menu and I could not decide
on anything else so I went to my faithful
dish.
Martha, Jill and I finished our meal.
the other thought it was too much, So
I guess we won't be going there anymore.
I want to try the sushi train.....

Pyramid
Sunday 22 January
After the frangipini show we
went and visited the tropical
centre and the pyramid.
The pyramid.
The people doing the exhibition told us that
next year they will have to find another
venue for their show. The pyramid is going
to be demolished. Claude ask at the cashier
for more information and they said:
"something else will be built eventually "
We don't like the sound of that "eventually"
time for coffee.
going back home. We have to walk
all the way back across the bridge to
our car in Milson Point
this huge cruise ship is much smaller than
the stricken Costa Concordia
I had to laugh.....We did not find a
garbage bin on our way and poor
Claude had to carry the empty cups
all the way to Milson point with him.
We ask the guard on the bridge where
was the bin. He said that
"there was no bin on the bridge, just
in case someone put a bomb in it"......
and that my friends is being very paranoid.

Frangipini show
Sunday 22 January
Frangipini show in the tropical
garden of the Botanic garden
This is a frangipini seeds pod.
Claude and I never seen one before.
The growers gave a very interesting
talk about all aspects of growing
and caring for frangipini.

Government house
Sunday 22 January
The harbour bridge is closed for maintenance.
We parked the car in Milson Point and walk to
the botanical garden to have a look at the
frangipini show.
But we got side tracked and went to a guided
tour of the Government house.

Cremorne Reseve
Friday 20 January
Beautiful sunny day early in the morning.
By 9 am it was grey but warm.
We had decided on a trip to the Blue Mountains
but we review the situation and decided
to stay nearer home.
The start of our walk was by going across
this foot bridge. Underneath there is a lovely
park, but full of dogs.
We went there a very long time ago and
we don't think we ever walk all the way.
The walk to the end of the reseve took
us 2 hours, we turn back and had our
picnic on the rocks watching the
antic of the jet/speed boats in the harbour.
The walk was bordered on one side by
beautiful, huge houses with well tended
gardens and on the other side by the
magnificant views of the harbour.
This colour photo is almost a black and white
because of the grey sky.
Time for a coffee break.
Claude went to get some at a ferry wharf.
And we had it in a nearby park.
lightouse at the end of the point.
view of the city.
At one spot along the harbour, a long time
ago an old woman did a garden. It all
started with some elephant ears. And
the garden grew. Now the council is
looking after it. It has a lot of little
nooks and cranies.
We are back where we started at the bridge.
here are some dog walkers. It must be a good
business around there.
