Serendipity

We went to Woolwhich to have a look at the Jacarandas. And came by the historical Woolwhich dock
It is now use as a marina.
Few of the Sydney to Hobart sailing boats
were at anchor.

A caisson.
After the ship came into the dock,
the caisson was floated across the entrance
and flooded to sink into place.
The water was pumped out of the dock.
Centring booms hold the
ship in position.
