Port Douglas holidays: Days 5 and 6

Saturday 6 June

Day five

We went to explore

We also had an afternoon walk along the beach.

Sunday 7 June

Day six

We went to the market after breakfast.

We listened to music 

We watched the cruise going to the Outer Reef

and were very glad we were not on it.

The sea was very rough and the boat moving up and down a lot.

You could buy some cane juice and do the
crushing yourself

The market was very interesting but we did not
buy anything.

I spent the rest of the day by the pool.
Claude went and watch a bit of the marathon
around the place: biking, swimming, canoeing, running.

Friday 5 June

Trip to the Outer Reef

We were picked up from our resort at 9.15am

to go to the marina.

We went to snorkel from the submerged platform

in the submarine

Back at the marina. It was a big day for us.

Thursday 4 June 2015

Our 50 th Anniversary

We went on a river cruise aboard a 

make believe paddle boat.

Getting aboard, we got a glass of champagne 

our first crocodile

We passed in front of the

Tin Shed

Where we will be having dinner tonight

Back at the resort to relax by the pool.

The Tin Shed is a pub who serve very good food.

But to get a table you have to be early.

And have a drink watching the sun set.

Claude is very proud of himself.

He was on the look out to see when you could put in 

your order and got number 1

By then we had a very good table.

We saw the Lady Douglas come home from her sunset cruise

We went on holidays to celebrate our

50 th wedding Anniversary.

We stayed at the Port Sea Mantra

Day one

Our accommodation.

You could cook if you wanted to.

We walked down the street to Pepper for dinner

Wednesday 3 June

Day two

We went to explore around the resort

The pool goes all over the resort and has different depth.

The blue part is a children slide

We can see the children slide on the left.

our room was just in front of the pool bar.

a bit noisy during the day with the music

but we were out or by the pool.

It closed very early in the afternoon

We walk to the centre of town by the beach

It is a very long beach

some interesting plants.
