Minding the grandchildren: day three

Sunday 20 January

Day 3

Claude wanted to take the children to
Gosford reptiles park.
But rain is predicted and it is very overcast.

I still packed up a picnic while we
decided what to do.

We drove all the way to Palm Beach.
Both children were asleep in the car
and it was pouring with rain.
(We thought the children could have play
on the sand in the bay area.)
We did not stop and drove back.
Around Warriewood valley the rain stopped.
So we decided to go and investigate
the new park.

It is a lovely big park with lot of play equipments
BBQ and tables. BUT no toilets

Joshua had a great time on this swing

to use their scooter

and went to a park

Anything Amelia do, Joshua has to do it too.

We went to see Dora

Amelia participate with the singing and dancing.

We had a busy morning .
Home for lunch and a nap for Joshua.

Minding the grand children: day 1

Friday 18 January 46 degrees

Day 1

Shane is gone to China for work.
Jo went with him for a holiday.
They are gone for 2 weeks.

Packed up and ready to go.

We went to collect the children from their home
Where Jo's mun and step dad were minding them
for a week. We are minding them this next week.

we are having the hottest day this summer.

Keeping cool with the air con, cold drink and cold fruit.

This is a hard puzzle.
We showed her how to do it, done it once
with her and after that she never needed
help again. Clever girl.

Claude took Amelia to the kiddy farm.
She was disappointed that there was no calf.
(On the flyer there was one!)

In the play area at the mall

While Joshua was having a nap
(sorry I can't seem to be able to rotate this photo)

Earlier in the day I filled up the pool and it warm
up in the sun.
Claude said it is not a pool but a bucket.
The children don't seem to mind.

Narrabeen lagoon walk

Sunday 13 January

I packed up a picnic and we went for
a new walk
The Narrabeen Lagoon walk.
Well it is an old walk but the have extend it.
They are planning to, one day do a walk all
around the lake.
It will be fantastic.

part of the walk was rainforest type of vegetation

Claude enjoying his antipasto

when we passed near that tree with the termites nest,
2 kookaburras were looking in the holes.
We thought they were feeding babies.

But when we came back there was no sign of them
and no chirping noises.
They must have been inspecting for a new nest.

North Head picnic

Monday 7 January

Claude is still on holidays.
He thought he was starting today.

When I went for my Pilate class he came too
and went for a walk from Harbour to Manly.

When we park the car there was just a seat
so we had our sandwiches there.
We went to North head hoping to catch
a bit of a breeze but the air was still
and it was very hot.
So after eating we went home to
rest and read on our deck.

Claude is back at work tomorrow for
a few weeks before his retirement.

Glebe and the yellow duck

Sunday 6 January

We drove to Glebe to have lunch at a cafe
with a very nice view.
"Blackwattle cafe"
When we arrived there was no table free.
So we went inside and sat by a window.
When table became avalaible we decided
to stay where we were.
It was a VERY HOT DAY.

Darling Harbor has a giant yellow duck

they had trouble bringing it through the bridge (at the back)
they had to deflate it a bit.

The posters in Darling Harbor were saying;
