North head

Saturday 17 December

We were driving to Fairlight for a walk
along the sea shore.
Going down Beacon hill road we saw
the big sailing ship with its sails on
coming back to the harbour.
So we drove to North head and were just
in time to see it coming through the heads

But to come into the harbour they folded the sails
us enjoying a bit of sunshine

Our tree

Thursday 15 December

This year we are late putting our tree up.
So I got it out of the attic.

We bought that tree in 1969 the
first Christmas in our new home.
Every year it loose some of its needles.
some parts are a bit bare
but it is

OUR TREE

The family is getting bigger.
We used to have only 4 stockings

yes....our tree

back (side) door

I did not decorate the tree as I cannot put the
electric light.
(well I can really but this force grouchy to participate)

Friday 16 December

This morning we drove all the way to
Castle hill to get Christopher gift card from
a camping place.
Coming back we went for lunch but the place
Claude had chosen was very cold and we
did not stay so we drove back
and decided to stop at the Terry hill Tavern.
They have a nice tree
Back home and time to finish the tree
Claude putting the electric lights

and here it is now finished

Thursday 22 December
Yesterday I wrapped up the presents
There is not one for me yet.
This afternoon we went to the shops
and could not find a parking spot.
We will go again tomorrow 9am

Quillers lunch

Tuesday 13 December

Again this year the quillers
are having lunch at Club Totem.

Coral, Dorothy and Elaine J
The big fish that Elaine is eating is a grilled
lemon sole I had the same. I thought is was the
healthy choice but it came with a small salad
and a bowl of chips... yep I ate them all

 Jessica, Pat and Anne

Carole  and Alice

Elaine S Jessica and Pat
Elaine J, Elaine M and Joan
Joan, Val and Marie
Dorothy Elaine J and Elaine M
We had a lovely lunch. At the end we presented
our tutor, Elaine M with a gift certificate
to thank her for her help and  there she was thanking
us for having been there when her husband
passed away.
These women are terrific friends, some of them are in their 80.
Jessica is 83, Anne is almost blind and Carol just had cancer
but they are chatty and friendly and very helpful.
I would not miss my quilling class for anything going to

Santa came early

Tuesday 13 December

I came home from my morning walk to
discover that having been such a good
girl, Santa came early

a lovely big black box, looking a bit like leather,
a gift tag but no name....

Oh goodies
food, glorious food.
Claude favorite gift: consumables.

We thought it was from T & T
(Tina and Topher)

I send e mails and you won't believe it
but Shane said it was from him, but
Jo did not let him get away with it.

Thanks T & T

Cockatoo Island

Sunday 11 December

Visit to Cockatoo Island

It started on a sunny morning
but rain was predicted.
We parked the car in Milson point
and walk across the harbour bridge to
Circular quay.
Claude had to pay $10.60 for the ferry
me...I only pay $2.50
the advantage of being a senior citizen.

inside the tunnel.
graffiti art on one side

some old building but every where was that
graffiti art.

where we had our picnic lunch
(noticed my new hair cut?)
an old church
 the camping ground

just walking, 2pm the sky was all black

and the rain came down
we did not have the first ferry back but we were
on this one and those poor people had to wait
for the next one.

we had a lovely day a shame it had to stop so early.
we could not walk back across the harbour bridge
we had to take the train.
I used my same ticket and Claude had to pay
 an extra $3.20
