Mirror, mirror

Wednesday 22 September
I have been meaning to take a
photo of Amelia with my favorite
outfit of Shane's when he was a toddler.
But few weeks ago it was still too cold
to put Amelia in it.
light on, light of.....
funny grass....

crawling away....

grand dad to the rescue...

sticking tummy out....

Ah, the mirror...

It was not what I had in mind when i
decided on the photo shot,
But this is what you get with a 23 months
old full of beans.

Canberra Nara Candle Festival

Lennox Gardens
Canberra Nara peace park, Yarralumla.
Celebration of Canberra's sister relationship
with Nara, Japan.

Japanese calligraphy

I wrote a wish and put it in the tree.....

Beautiful blossoms

Japanese pancake

2000 candles were arranged in the dry riverbed.
They had a lot of troubles lighting them.
The wind was too strong.
Claude and I wanted to stay to the big ceremony
at sunset but we were too cold.
the wind was coming from the lake,
and it was not very pleasant.
Next day Sunday, on our way home
we were confronted by
sheeps all over the road.
Sunday morning we went to visit the
National museum of Australia.
We only scratch the surface.
We took a guided tour, and our guide
explain the Australian Journey, and
how to go about the stories in the lay out
You need few visits to see it all.
(did not take any photos)
The National museum of Australia is the first
in the country devoted to telling
great stories about Australia
and Australian.
There is a part where you can record your
own story, but we did not have time to
go and do it. It was time to make track
for home.

during the day.

Floriade flags

Claude well wrapped up

I don't know what the zebras were for.

I took a lot of photos.
This one is my favorite

A display was with umbrella.
A good idea for this spot.
There was a lot of bats in the trees.
On Saturday morning we came back
to see what we did not have time to
go to on the Friday.
In one tent they were demonstrating
flowers arrangements.
Here Michael Woods started with a
bunch of willow twigs.
and that was the finished production.

We bought lunch and had a pic nic while
listening to Katie Noonan and the Captains
We had a really good time.
I also blog a photo of me feeding some kids
(baby goats kind of kids)
But I don't know were the photo went.

Thursday 16 September
Tomorrow is our friend Jan birthday.
We, the aqua girls always celebrate
birthdays with lunch or dinner.
Since now we are all retired it is mostly lunch.
Jan lives at Lake Munmorah.
So to make it easier for her (this time), we
decided to go to Hornby shopping centre.
So she could take the train and join us.

We all had to meet at the fountain clock.
Its a Chinese water wheel.
Marge is posing for me.
While we were waiting we could hear
some music..
there was this mas playing the pipes.
He was wearing a raincoat, wellingtons
ans a hard hat.
the music was beautiful.
Jan the birthday girl and Sandra

All the 8 of us who could make it today.
We had a good time and the food was fantastic.
We went to the Olive bar.
they had special menus for $10.
I had a grilled perch it was fantastic and
4 girls had the steak and all said it was very
tender. Mind you the wine was a bit pricey.

Hand shadows

In the middle of the morning Claude came
from his study to see us.
Amelia ran to the couch, sit herself in the
middle and pat the left side and said to Claude:
"sit down"
I said to Claude that I think she want the TV on.
So Claude put it and try to explain to her that he
could not stay with her.
She sat there watching a kid show.
In the afternoon while eating her yogurt,
she was looking at my shadow on the wall,
so I showed her how to make a dog with
my hand and she was copying.
Very bright child, a real sponge.
( yeah I know but it's a grand mother privilege!)
It is lovely spending the day with her, for me
it is an adventure, I discover all the joys of
little happenings

Amelia has been playing with dolly pegs, but

she loves handing out to me the pegs when I put the

washing on the line. So I had a few to her tins and teach

her "squeeze" She did very well but had enough by

the time I remembered to take the video.

She had a little accident where she pinched her

hand and after that she try to pinch ME!!!!
