Melbourne Holidays: Day three

Monday 26 January

Australia Day

Today we drove to the Yarra valley.
We stopped at Healesville for morning tea.
Then we went to do some wine tasting
at the Tarra Warra estate.
We also went to visit the art gallery next to the wine tasting.

We went and have lunch in Marysville.
Marysville was the centre od the devastating Black
Saturday bush-fires in 2009.

After lunch we went to visit Bruno's
art and sculptures garden.

Since the 7th February 2009 fires, Bruno has rebouilt
his home and gallery.
The garden has blossomed into a new stage of life,
most of his terracotta life size sculptures have
been restored.

Stuck in the lift

Sunday 25 January

Well I am all for creating memories
but this is going a bit far.

After the tennis we had time to shower
and change for our buffet dinner at the motel.

On our way back in the lift we got stuck between 2 floors.
We rang the lift company who were sending someone,
but they were far away and it was starting
to be uncomfortably hot.

One of the men told John ( who was on the
outside keeping our morale up,
not that it was down, we were having an
adventure)
He told him to ring the fire brigade.

In the meantime I SMS Shane, got an answer,do you need help,
and don't panic then SMS
that it was hot and that firemen were coming.
Then I must have press the wrong recipient
and send it to Jo who was having drinks at a friend place
and did not know
about me being stuck in the lift.
suddenly, I got a message from her:
"what hot firemen?"
I had some explaining to do once I was out.

3 fire engines came. In a few minute the firemen had
opened the doors, drop down a bench
we climb on the bench and they were
there to lift us out.

I got up as Jenny wanted to sit and there was no room.

a selfie, I am getting there!!

The next day we made the news
"10 people stuck in a lift"

Collaroy

Wednesday 21 January

Claude is a bit depress, so I took him to the
Collaroy Beach Club for lunch.
( I had a "buy one get one free lunch)

We had lunch on the deck, very peaceful.

Yes, we had a chicken Caesar salad

we stayed on for a while finishing our coffee
and looking at the work being done on the beach

Then we went for a little walk to the top of the cliff
and discovered another beach

At the beach

Sunday 18 January

Amelia was doing nippers this morning.
I did not take photos of the event.
After the nippers,
Amelia collected treasure on the beach,
Jo and Mykaela were reading in the
shade of their beach umbrella
Shane playing with Joshua.

Lunch at the Boathouse

Thursday 15 January

We had to go to Warriewood K mart in our
search for a case to put my new mobile.
From the brochure, we thought they
had one....
As it was lunch time, we decided to drive to
Palm Beach and have lunch at the Boathouse.
They were not filming today, Summer Bay.

The sea plane was there, I have never been in one of these.
We parked the car in a no paying zone and had
to walk, but we often do the walk as it is very pleasant.

The Boathouse, it is always full.
I had to be on the look out for a table
while Claude queued up to order.

We had the Boathouse salad,
Claude with chicken and me with smoke trout.
It was not worth the $7 extra to have the chicken or trout.

from this photo we cannot see the lovely view we had.
