New signposts

Saturday 9 April

We went to walk around the lake and stopped
for lunch at H2O.
We often do this. The restaurant is half way.

On our way we noticed new signposts.

 SMILE!

I am a star

Saturday 9 April

I had a nice surprise this morning
when I opened our local paper.
I have my photo in it.

Last Tuesday was "Open day"
at my school for senior and the local
Paper came to do an article.
They often do one but I never had
my photo in it before today.

I go to the School for Seniors every
Tuesday morning to do Quilling.
I made cards with my quillings.

Barrenjoey lighthouse and cottages

Saturday 2 April

We saw in our local paper That the Cottages
were open for inspection and a survey for
what best to do with them.
One thought is short tern accommodation.

It was a hot day 31 degrees.
We had to climb the hill.
We haven't been there since the fire (arson)
destroyed all the headland.
It look very different without all the vegetation.

They made a new path.
It took ages to do but it make it
easier to climb

they will need a lot of work.

nice views from the windows

nice views from the windows
of Palm beach on one side and Pittwater on the other.

Then we went to the top of the lighthouse
and the view was even more fantastic.

Lion island on the left

It look very strange to us.
we did not know there was so many rocks.
We can walk quite far to the headland
there is no bush to stop us.

Palm beach

We had never seen this view before it was
obscure by shrubs

Lion island

It look very desolate without any trees

The ponds walk

Thursday 31 March 2016

We met at chatswood station with 22 other
walker from the Forestville group.

We caught the train to Epping .
We walked to Carlingford Memorial park
at Mobbs hill for morning tea.
We strolled on to the start of the
Ponds walk.

This walk is mainly bush tracks, which run alongside
the Pond s Creek and Subiaco Creek through
the Dundas valley.
Subiaco creek eventually drains into the
Parramatta river.

We had lunch at Upjohn park, Dundas.

The walk finished at Victoria road Rydalmere where we caught
the bus to Parramatta station.
Most of the walkers caught the fast train to Chatswood,
but 9 of us decided to go back by the
River cat from Parramatta warf to Sydney.

Then Claude and I took the ferry to Manly.

It was a long day, sometime I think we spend
more time on public transport then walking.

Busy day

Wednesday 30 March

I went to have a fasting blood test this morning
nice and early.
I had arrived at the lift when I discovered that I had
forgotten the script.
I had to drive all the way home to get it.
When I got back there was 8 people in
front of me and it took ages.

By then it was too late for my stretch class
so I went to get a smoothie for my breakfast.
They were very busy and kept on saying
"I'll be with you in a minute"
Well it was getting late and it was almost
time for my aqua class, so I left without
breakfast.

After aqua I finely had my smoothie
while my friend had their coffee.

Then I got a phone call from Claude .
He was at the mall. He walk there
by the bush track at the bottom of
our road.
He went to the travel agency to organised
a surprise holiday for my birthday,
and it fizzle out so he needed me to sort out
the dates!!!!

From there we drove to Cottage point
for lunch.
And from Cottage point to Manly to
the hairdresser.

OUF what a busy day!

Woolloomooloo

Saturday 26 March2016

We parked the car in Fairlight and walk to
the Manly ferry.
Then we walk across the botanical garden
to Woolloomooloo for lunch.

Fairlight on our way to the ferry

Woolloomooloo

This is the Sienna Marina where we had lunch.
It does not look much but the food was great.

Having a walk around to digest and spot where to
have lunch next time.

We discovered and old flight of steps

one of the step was the root of the fig tree!!!

On our way back to the ferry we went to have a look
at the place in the Botanical garden where the
Opera Turandot is playing at night.

We had a lovely day.
