Melbourne Holidays: day five

Wednesday 28 January

The Atura motel, Doveton Victoria

our room is the centre middle window with the open curtains.

We went to the Dandenongs and had morning tea
by the Emerald lake

We did not see the Puffin Billy.
Today school has started for the new year.

The we went to visit Warratina lavender farm.
The lavender is finished but the owner explain
to us and made it very interesting.

We stopped for lunch at the Pig and the Whistle
at Olinda. We had a lovely Guinness pie

our next stop was the Norman Ricketts Sanctuary

most of the statues/ carvings were of
aboriginals with this exception

this place left me very unsettle and I don't know why.

Tonight we are going to the night tennis.

We saw Novak Djokovic from SRB
and Milos Raonic from Canada.

What a disappointing match.
It was over in no time in straight sets.
We had hardly time to settle that it was finished.

Most of the people decided to go back to
the motel. Only 8 of us stayed on.
That was a mistake as the mixed double
quarter finals went in straight sets too and
was over very quickly.
But we had to wait for john to do the return trip
to pick us off.
And guess what?
They had started night road works.
We went to bed after 1 am.

Martina Hingis (Sui) and Leander Paes (Ind)

Andrea Hlavackova (cze) and Alexander Peya (Aut)

The one good thing about was to see Martina Hingis playing again.
She still got it!
