Hawaii island of Maui
we are going on a tour
We are going to the summit of Haleakala in the
National Park.
We had a stop at 2134 m to get acclimatised
for 30 minutes.

We are at the top 3055 m. it is cold and windy
the clouds are moving in
all clear, the clouds are all gone
At the visitor centre I got a certificate saying:
"I survived the 37 mile drive up from the sea level to
the summit of Haleakala volcano ( 10,023 ft / 3,055 m)
one of the greatest elevation gains in the shortest
distance in the world!
Claude did not want one!!!
Lahaina
The corner shop is an Ice cream shop, we shared
a coconut ice cream, it was huge and delicious.
this is a very huge tree with lots of roots forming new trunks
view of our ship from Lahaina
the tender is berthing soon
