Around the ship

just a look around

last day at sea

Monday 6 October
5th day at sea

We went to a cooking demonstration
by the executive chef Gaetano Patamia

 the Maitre D helping

and then we went on a tour of the kitchens

At the end of the tour the chef was signing copies
of his cook book, I did not buy one as there was
no price and I hate that.

Tonight we have another formal dinner.

Fourth day at sea

Sunday 5 October

Fourth day at sea

We woke up with flying fish jumping and
flying everywhere. We spent some time
on our balcony just watching them. Some
spent a long time in the air.

After breakfast we went on the top deck to
do our 13 laps (1 nautical mile) to work out
our breakfast.

at 10 am we had to go to the French Polynesian
immigration inspection....

Then we sun bake till lunch time (Mexican theme)

Claude went to a lecture on the real story of
the mutiny on the Bounty.
I stayed by the pool in the shade and watch
the ice carving. It was so hot it was melting fast.

He made a dolphin. It was amazing to watch, what a skill
It was far too hot, people went to their cabin or to listen to music
Also there is bingo, dancing, trivia, craft .....

I choose relaxing in the shade before getting
ready for our Italian dinner.

What a life!

The crossing of the Equator

Saturday 4 October

Today we are crossing the equator.
People who crossed it for the first
time can participate in the ceremony

everything fine at that end people are starting to settle
in their chairs

at the other end 2 huge bowls of whipped cream.
So we looked around and the safest place for us to observe
it was on the top deck

Neptune arrived

Oh that was funny...
the girl with the black bikini and turquoise top
put some whipped cream all over her tummy.
the guy is seated in a chair in front of her.
someone put a blindfold on the guy...
and a guy with whipped cream put himself in
the place of the girl.
the blindfolded guy had to rub his face in the cream
and then they removed his blindfold.

here they put a fat guy on a table, put sheet around
and made believe that they are operating.
they throwing around a link of sausage, a liver
some cooked spaghetti etc.

here they have to kiss a huge fish..
(I kept away from fish that evening)

here they throw an officer fully clothed in the pool

sentencing

while some of the crew covered them with cream
and chocolate sauce

fight started

I tried to download a video but it is too big

Claude and I celebrating the crossing with a cocktail

Second day at sea and the third

Friday 3 October

Second day at sea.

We went to breakfast much later as
we did not have a tour to go to.

We sat by the pool until we were too hot.
and then went to our cabin to cool, read and relax.

At lunch time the dinning room was decorated
with fruit and vegetables carving

Claude went to a lecture on Moorea
and I went to do craft.

In the afternoon Claude went to another
lecture on James Cook and I went to
watch the pool games.

Saturday 4 October

Third day at sea

Today it's a bit choppy but blue sky.

We went on the top deck to do 13 laps on
the walking track.
This is 1 nautical mile

At 9.15 Claude went to a lecture on
Sir Francis Drake, and I went on the pool deck
to do some writing.

We went to a talk on Papeete. It gave us a
few ideas of what to see as we will
be staying there after the cruise.

We went to see a fruit and vegetable carving.
He made it look so easy.

He uses this strange looking knife
