La lune nature walk

Saturday 17 May

The last of the Hilltop to Headland
meandering in May

Tonight we are meeting Leonie
our guide. She had with her the curator
of this art display, so he could
explain to us.

La lune: Energy producing art

The art display is along the Long Reef cliff,
from the surf pavilion right to the top
of the cliff where the hand gliders jumped
off the cliff. ( but not in the dark).

We had an excellent night for our walk.
mild and calm.

I don't have good photos, they were
mostly blurred.

LOST
by Peter Woodward-Smith
A tear shed for lost species and habitat gone
already, and those that will be lost that
could have been saved

HOUSEWORK
by Angela Robinson
A symmetrical, miniature replica of the artist's
childhood home
is highlighted by torchlight, producing shadows and reflections
simultaneously. Within the broader context of
Australian immigrant experience, this work
explore ideas of domestic space.

FULL MOON
by Peter Woodward- Smith

HUGO and EMMY
by Karl De Waal
These two owls sitting in the tree signify the lives of
two people, Hugo Ball and Emmy Hennings.
Almost a hundred years ago in Zurich, amidst the
backdrop of the great war, they decided to establish
the Cabaret Voltaire. It was a gesture that was to
jettison art into a new age.
A transcendental moment filled with optimism
and hope for a more enlighten world.
Today they sit perched on the branch of a tree
overseeing the fruits of their legacy.

The magic still lingering.
