Amelia's first TRYathlon

Sunday 31 January 2016

Amelia is going for her first triathlon.
I was so nervous this morning.
I was not sure how she was going to go
We arrived at Olympic Park to be greeted with big smile.
She was OK.

Ages 7 - 10 years

Swim: 150 m
Bike: 6 km
run: 1 km

Always good for freebies, I got bangers...
.maybe not such a good idea

It was now time to make our way to the pool.
We went with Shane and Josh.
Jo went to the bike to get her ready for the next leg.
Jessica's dad came to the pool too, his wife will go to the bikes.

Jessica and Amelia resting in the shade,
it is a very hot day and we have to wait again.

and we are inside

Joshua is amusing himself with his hat'string

the children move to the other side of the pool to wait

almost there

they have to wait for the 7 y boys first.

Then I forgot to take photos as I
lost her in the pool. All we could see was green caps.

a tree down

Saturday 30 January

While we have been away, there has been
a very bad storm and a branch felled on the BBQ
table. lucky that Claude had stood the table
on its side. The damage was only slight.
but a lot of cleaning up.

Then on Saturday night we had another big
storm and another branch fell down
at the front this time.
It fell on the neighbour footpath.
They had one car parked in the driveway
and the other on the side of the road.
The branch missed both.
How lucky can you get.

Melbourne: day seven

Friday 29 January

Today is our last day in Melbourne and after
breakfast the coach drove us to the city and
we had free time till 2 pm.

We had planned on a cruise up river
but it was raining so we went to
the art gallery and went on a guide tour.

these are empty logs.
The aborigine people put the bones of their
deceased in them to preserve them.

this sculpture fascinate me very much.
It is all made of coloured pencils

Good bye Melbourne

I would be nice on a sunny day.

After we went to visit a chocolate factory.

It was just a shop
